Washington residents use Washington Healthplanfinder, not HealthCare.gov, for individual Marketplace plans. Apple Health, Cascade Care, Classic Medicaid, and Medicare have distinct roles.
Washington residents do not enroll through HealthCare.gov
Washington runs its own Marketplace, Washington Healthplanfinder. Use it for individual and family plans, federal tax credits, Cascade Care Savings, and most Apple Health applications.
Where Cascade Care fits
Cascade Care plans are standardized Marketplace plans available only through Washington Healthplanfinder. Some cover more services before the deductible, and some applicants may qualify for Cascade Care Savings. They are private health plans, not Apple Health and not Medicare.
Apple Health uses more than one application
Children, pregnant people, parents, and most adults younger than 65 who are not on Medicare generally start with Washington Healthplanfinder. People applying because of age, blindness, disability, long-term care, or certain Medicare-related needs may need Washington Connection instead.
Before you choose a Washington plan
- Confirm the correct application for every household member.
- Compare provider networks across the part of Washington where you receive care.
- Check whether a Cascade Care plan lowers the services you pay for before the deductible.
- Use current account notices because federal and state eligibility rules are changing.
